Description
New Student Orientation is your next step to graduation! This event is an interactive experience for both students and their families. NSO is a half-day introduction to Gordon State College that is required for all new students.
It's important to select the date that matches your student type to ensure you receive the most relevant information and resources for your needs. Please review the options carefully and choose the session that applies to you:
Summer 2026/Fall 2026
- Friday, April 24th @ 8AM - All Students
- Thursday, May 7th @ 4PM - Transfer, Adult Learners and Previously Dual Enrolled
- Thursday, May 21st @ 8AM - All students
Fall 2026
- Thursday, June 4th @4PM - Transfer, Adult Learners and Previously Dual Enrolled
- Thursday, June 25th @8AM - New Freshmen and New Student-Athletes
- Thursday, July 9th @8AM - New Freshmen and First-Generation Students (First-Generation Students are students who neither parent/guardian graduated with a bachelor's degree)
- Thursday, July 23rd @8AM - New Freshmen
- Friday, July 30th @8AM - New Freshmen

- Why do I need to attend New Student Orientation?
NSO connects you to your new Gordon State family by showcasing resources that will assist you in a successful transition to campus. NSO also provides you with the opportunity to meet your new peers while also exploring your new academic program.
- What should I do before New Student Orientation?
If possible, please complete the following before NSO:
- Set up your Gordon email and your Gordon Banner Web to see your schedule, financial aid, and more (here).
- Set up Navigate to see your schedule, contact your advisor, and much more (use network/email password)
- Set up Multi-Factor Authentication-DUO
- If you have not completed the D2L pre-orientation course (including the Scheduling Survey) please do so.
- How will I be best prepared on the day of New Student Orientation?
- Wear comfortable shoes as we will be walking throughout the day.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID to receive your official GSC student ID card.
- If you plan to park in any campus parking lot during the semester (resident or commuter), bring your license plate number to receive your campus parking pass.
- If I am a New First Time Freshman can I attend the session for Transfer, Adult Learner or Previously Dual Enrolled?
No, First Time Freshmen are encouraged to attend the orientation session for New Freshmen.
